Twitter

I have now joined Twitter.
Don't really see the point to this social networking tool.
Who cares what people are doing?
I have enough trouble keeping up with what is going on in my own life to worry about what other people are doing. Also who cares what I am doing???
I have an incredibly boring life!
On reflecting on the process to join twitter it was extremely easy, actually foolproof I would say. Much easier than facebook even!

  1. Cathy, I originally get into Twitter for work (I set up their Twitter and maintained it). I didn't have my own Twitter account then - didn't have the time, inclincation, and like you didn't think I had anything to talk about. A change in jobs started me down the personal / professional twitter journey.

I mainly only tweet about items of professional interest; an article, an opinion piece etc that I want to alert other about. Now I'm linking to my OLJ posts.

My followers are people and magazines / businesses that I'm interested in. To some extent I'm using 'following' a bit like RSS.

I know that some people use Twitter like Facebook; that's not for me! So if Twitter doesn't full fill a purpose for you.... don't use it!
